In an event led by the Mayor Gustavo Rafael Sastre and the Undersecretary of Sports, Andrés Calabrothe official presentation of the new edition of Whale Returnthe most important mountain bike competition in Patagonia. They accompanied the organizers Pablo Neme, Brian Oggero and Martín Rodríguez Gallego.
The launch ceremony took place at the new offices of Piotrowsky Insurance – Health Preventionwith the presence of local authorities and regional sports leaders.
Words from the authorities
Mayor Gustavo Sastre highlighted the importance of the event for the community: “Vuelta Ballenas is an interesting proposal for tourists and athletes, and in this way it enhances Puerto Madryn” .
For their part, the organization expressed their enthusiasm for the large call prior to the formal start of registration. Currently there is already more than 250 confirmed runners and the expectation is to reach the 1500 participantsconsolidating the Vuelta Ballenas among the five largest MTB races in the country.
Competition details
The race will be held on September 20, 2026 in Puerto Madryn, province of Chubut. In addition to the main competition, a new edition of the Mini Whale Tour and the traditional Vuelta Ballenas Expoproposals that complement the experience for athletes, families and tourists.

In the coming days, registration points will be enabled at:

- Comodoro Rivadavia
- Caleta Olivia
- General Roca
- Puerto Madryn
