The «heteroflexibility«emerged as one of the most relevant sexuality options on platforms and apps de citas. The term describes people who define themselves as heterosexual, but who admit a potential attraction towards people of his same gender.
The concept functions as a «sister» term to the «homoflexibility«. In that case, the person has a main attraction towards their own sex, although they maintain an openness towards the opposite sex in specific circumstances.
The dating app Feeld did not reveal the number of registered users on its platform, but assured that during 2025 there was a 200 percent increase of people who identified themselves as «homoflexible.»

Other users use the label to express a sexual interest in the same gender that lacks a romantic component. There is also a group that uses the term to describe their attraction to non-binary peoplewithout this changing its heterosexual base.
The phenomenon of «heteroflexibility»: a growing trend?

Many cisgender men avoid the label bisexual due to the social stigma or discrimination that persists in today’s society.
«For some, any flexibility is a deviation from the heterosexual standard and will be judged negatively; especially for men who experience extensive erasure of bisexuality,» Dr. Brunning explained.
The debate about the validity of this trend is intense in the community LGBTQ. Some critics see heteroflexibility as a form of «bisexual erasure,» while others see it as an honest way to not own one’s bisexual identity if the attraction is only situational.
