Martín Suero and his outstanding participation in WTM Latin America

The president of the Hotel Association and gastronomy of Villa La Angostura, Martin Suerostressed the importance of strengthening commercial links with the Brazilian market to promote regional tourism, after the participation of the Neuquén delegation in the fair WTM Latin America in São Paulo. The reference highlighted the collaboration between the private sector and government agencies to promote Route of the Seven Lakesfacing a 2026 winter season that already generates “a surprisingly high demand from foreign visitors.”

A strategic alliance with Brazil

Suero explained that the presence of Villa La Angostura and NeuquenTur in the WTM Latin America was key to consolidating agreements with Brazilian tour operators. «The Brazilian market is fundamental for our region. We have been working together with None of them to show the benefits of Argentine Patagonia, and the results are beginning to be seen: there is a very great expectation for winter 2026,» he noted.

The referent especially thanked the articulated work between the private sector and the provincial governmenta joint effort that seeks to position Patagonia as a leading destination in snow tourism and nature experiences.

The Route of the Seven Lakes: the star corridor of winter

For the 2026 winter season, the Route of the Seven Lakes —which connects the towns of Villa La Angostura and San Martín de los Andes— is presented with a strong focus on tourism. This scenic corridor, one of the most emblematic in Patagonia, is experiencing a exceptional demand which has led to strengthening alliances to enhance the winter offer.

The main attraction lies in the consolidation of these destinations as references to enjoy the snow and the natural landscape that the journey between both cities offers. Ski centers like Cerro Bayo y Cerro Chapelcotogether with a varied offer of accommodation, gastronomy and mountain activities, make up a high-value tourism product.

A winter with high international projection

«The demand from foreign visitors surprised us. We see very significant growth not only from Brazil, but also from other markets such as the United States and Europe, which are looking for authentic experiences in nature,» said Suero. The 2026 winter season is shaping up to be one of the most promising in recent years, with a hotel occupancy projected at record levels for July and August.
