Alexander Medina’s team will play tonight at the Maracaná for a new date of the Copa Libertadores. Pincha will look for a key victory against one of the tournament’s candidates.
Students will visit Flamengo this Wednesday at the Jornalista Mário Filho stadium, better known as Maracaná, for a new round of the Copa Libertadores 2026.
The team led by Alexander Medina reaches the commitment after being eliminated from the Apertura Tournament and after drawing against Cusco Fútbol Club, although within the club they consider that the semester continues to be positive due to the football consolidation of the “Cacique” cycle.
In addition, the stoppage of competition allowed the coaching staff to recover players physically and prepare more calmly for one of the most demanding matches of the group.
An even record and a pending challenge at the Maracaná
It will be the fourth time that Pincha faces Flamengo for the Copa Libertadores. So far, the record records one victory per side and one draw.
The most recent precedent was the 1-1 draw played at the Jorge Luis Hirschi stadium during this edition of the competition, with a goal from Guido Carrillo.
However, the great challenge for Estudiantes will be to end the bad streak at the Maracaná, a stadium where they have not yet been able to win and have accumulated three defeats and two draws.
Esteban Ostojich will be the referee of the match
Conmebol appointed the Uruguayan Esteban Ostojich as the main judge of the match.

The arbitration shortlist will be composed of:
- Assistant 1: Martín Soppi
- Assistant 2: Horacio Ferreiro
- Fourth referee: Diego Flores
- VAR: Leodan González
- AVAR:Santiago Fernandez
It will be the third time that Ostojich leads Estudiantes in international competitions, with a favorable balance for the La Plata team of a victory and a draw.
Those summoned and the probable Pincha team
The main novelty on the squad list is the absence of Ramiro Funes Mori, who was left out due to a physical discomfort.
The probable eleven of Estudiantes would be:
Legguard; Meza, Núñez, González Pírez, Palacios, Benedetti; Amondaraín, Pioví, Neves; Palacios and Carrillo.
