A zebra babywhich he lost his mother at a very young ageentered into a special bond con two giraffes in a biopark of Türkiye.
Gozde is a baby zebra that lives in the «İzmir Natural Life Park» (İzmir Doğal Yaşam Parkı), located in western Turkey, facing the Mar Aegean.
This month, the local municipal government broke the story through its official channels. According to this entity, Gözde She was orphaned at three months old and it had to be sheltered by workers of the biopark.
«She was raised by humans during the most vulnerable period of your life. Veterinarians, caregivers and technicians They became his family. They fed her with special bottles and They attended to her day and night«, reported la Municipalidad Metropolitana de Izmir (Izmir Metropolitan Municipality) en un comunicado de princea el 2 de mayo.
The origin of a particular connection
According to the same source, during that vulnerable stagezebra breeding started to interact through a fence with two giraffes from the establishment: Kamili and Radost. Following this contact close and frequentherbivorous mammals formed a particular connection.

After a while, the biopark authorities decided bring Gözde closer to the herd of zebras that lives on the property. Until that moment, the little horse had been separated from the rest of the horses.
«Zebras are animals that They move in packs and support and protect each other.. That’s why we wanted him to join the pack of zebras,» declared one of the biopark’s veterinarians, Duygu Aldemir, according to the municipal government.
However, unlike what was initially expected, Gözde chose to stay with Kamili and Radostinstead of joining the rest of the zebras.
«Something very surprising happened. After releasing Gözde in the area, we saw that she preferred to make friends with giraffes, not zebras. Thanks to the communication they had previously established through the fence, Gözde she became the best friend of Kamili and Radost,» said Aldemir.
«They protect her and take care of her»
Currently, the baby zebra spends its days in the company of giraffes. «Walk with them around the area. Besides, they protect her and take care of her. Now he has some great friends,» said the veterinarian.

Despite the bond that was generated between the different species, Aldemir said, according to the press release, that over time Gözde would fit in with the rest of the zebra herd.
«For now, he moves with the giraffes in an area where she feels safe. Being in a group is healthier for her than being alone. The adaptation process will be completed in time», stated the specialist.
