an eagle returned to nature in USA after having passed six months in a specialized rehabilitation center due to a health problem. The news, spread by the organization that assisted the bird, moved thousands of people.
On June 19, the non-profit entity SPCA Monterey Countydedicated to the well-being and protection of animals, announced through its social networks that that same day reintroduced a bald eagle in its natural habitat in California.
«After more than 25 weeks under our care, this bald eagle fly free again. (…) Today, after a brief pause, it took advantage of the wind and rose over the golden hills, circling over the landscape before continue your journey«said the organization through a Facebook postwhere he also shared an image of the moment.
What happened to the bird and how was its recovery?
The bird in question surpassed a long recovery process started at the end of 2025, when she was found injured: had one bone injury and his body also gave signs of having suffered a electric shock. On that occasion, SPCA Monterey County rescued the animal in the city of Salinaslocated in California.

«When he arrived at the SPCA Monterey County Wildlife Rescue and Rehabilitation Center in December, suffered a fracture of the coracoid —and fundamental bone for flight— and showed signs of having suffered an electric shock. After months of specialized care, medication and rehabilitation, regained the strength necessary to return to nature«, stated the entity on the social network.
In turn, in the same post, the organization she was grateful with those people who contributed to the cause.

What are the characteristics of the bald eagle

On the other hand, in relation to their life expectancy, the National Eagle Center clarified that bald eagles live between 20 and 25 years in the wild, while in captivity they can overcome the 40 years thanks to a «controlled environment, a nutrient-dense diet, and veterinary care«.
