An increase in the midst of chaos
The increase comes in a critical context for public transportation in La Plata. Every day, users report a sharp reduction in frequencies, units in poor condition and long waits at stops.
While transportation companies ensure that operating costs (fuel and spare parts) remain above revenue, passengers face a service that degrades at the same time that the cost of the ticket becomes increasingly difficult to afford for the average worker.
This new rate is added to the recent rise in fuel prices, which generates a knock-on impact on the economy of thousands of people from La Plata who depend exclusively on the bus to get around.
