Hundreds of fans gathered on the traditional corner to celebrate Scaloneta’s agonizing victory against Egypt with flags, drums and honking horns.
The Argentine National Team got one agonizing 3-2 victory against Egypt and qualified for the quarterfinals of the 2026 World Cup after a match full of emotions. Lionel Scaloni’s team managed to turn the result around and found the winning goal in injury time, unleashing the delirium of millions of fans across the country.
In La Plata, as soon as the match ended, hundreds of people began to gather at the traditional corner of 7 and 50 to celebrate a new classification of the Albiceleste. Flags, drums, t-shirts, honks and flares gave color to a night of celebrations in the heart of the city.
Families, groups of friends and fans of all ages took over the place with songs and displays of joy that lasted for several hours, in a postcard that was repeated again after another triumph of the National Team in the World Cup.
Now, with the passage to the quarterfinals assured, the Argentines’ enthusiasm remains intact and expectation grows for the next match of the team led by Scaloni.
