A 21-year-old young man died after crashing into a truck parked on 25th Avenue. Neighbors report constant risks in the area and point to the lack of controls.
The string of road tragedies in La Plata added a new victim in the last few hours. A 21-year-old young man who was riding a motorcycle died during the early hours of the morning after hitting a truck with a trailer that was parked on 25th Avenue, near the Nini hypermarket.
The event brings to 20 the number of deaths in road accidents so far in 2026 in the city. Of that total, 17 were motorcyclists, a fact that once again raises alarm bells about road safety and traffic conditions.
According to sources in the case, the victim was traveling in a Honda Wave S 110cc when he hit a Fiat Iveco truck that was stopped on the road. SAME personnel quickly went to the scene, but could only confirm the death due to the severity of the impact.
The driver of the truck, a 45-year-old man from San Miguel de Tucumán, was charged in a case classified as manslaughter.
A recurring problem
After the incident, residents of the area once again warned about a situation that they consider common and dangerous: the presence of trucks parked on 25th Avenue, especially at night.
According to reports, these vehicles reduce visibility and create unexpected obstacles for those traveling, particularly for motorcyclists, who appear as the most vulnerable group in this type of accidents.
