Sara left Almeria to study in Madrid thanks to a combination of family effort and financial aid. His family is linked to a small fishing company and facing the costs of a university degree far from home was a significant challenge.
Over the years received different scholarships and was recently selected for the Dorotea Projectan initiative of the Adecco Foundation intended for students with outstanding records and financial difficulties.
While he was studying, he shared a flat in Getafe and also rHe did different temporary jobs to supplement his income. She worked in a supermarket, ran a kiosk and was a child monitor during different periods.

Her vocation for journalism also led her to do internships at La Voz de Almería, where she began to know the daily functioning of an editorial office. There he discovered his interest in social, educational and health issues, areas in which he hopes to develop professionally.
The discovery that changed her outlook on herself
Although he always stood out for his academic results, SAra did not know until this year that she had high capabilities. The evaluation carried out within the framework of its scholarship program revealed an intellectual profile above average, with a score of 128 and a result of 141 in verbal comprehension.
The news surprised even his own family. According to her, she never felt identified with some of the stereotypes that are usually associated with this condition. Nor with the idea that people with high abilities necessarily fail in school or get bored in class.
What it does recognize is a strong tendency to perfectionism. At various stages of his life he felt constant pressure to obtain good results and remembers that during high school he went through periods of stress linked to studying.

Even today she admits that she is still very demanding of herself. While many students would consider a good grade to be a pass, she recognizes that an exam that ends with a 6 or 7 can leave you feeling like something went wrong.
The fear of labels
Despite having recently learned of the diagnosis, Sara still avoids talking about the topic naturally outside of her immediate environment.
He explains that for a long time he also had his own prejudices about high abilities and that he does not want that condition to end up defining who he is.
Therefore, until now, only his family knew about this facet of his life. Their concern is not about the label itself, but about the pchance that other people will start treating you differently.
