The university community of La Plata called for an activity to demand compliance with the University Financing Law and demand salary improvements.
He University Union Frontmade up of the FULP, ADULP and ATULPcarried out a day of protest this Tuesday, June 9, in front of the Courts of La Plata to demand the application of the University Financing Law No. 27,795 and defend the public university system.
The activity began at 1:00 p.m. on the corner of 8th and 50th Street and included an open radio station, posters, and flyers. The call seeks to make visible the situation that national universities are going through and add support to the demands of students, teachers and non-teaching workers.

The organizations indicated that the measure is carried out in the scenario of wage lossfreezing of scholarships and lack of resources allocated to the operation of educational institutions.
Claim for salaries and financing
The central request aims to comply with the law approved by Congress and that establishes greater funds for public universities. From the university sector they maintain that the lack of application of the regulations affects the entire educational community.
The event in La Plata is part of a national call promoted by the University Union Front, with simultaneous activities in different parts of the country.
Furthermore, the protest is part of a plan of struggle that will continue on next June 16 with an action in front of the Pizzurno Palace, in the City of Buenos Aires.
“For there to be a future there must be a university”
The president of the University Federation of La Plata, Eugenia Sala, stated that the claim seeks to defend the role of the public university and demand responses from the authorities.
“The people, the Congress, have already said it and now it is the obligation of the Supreme Court to say it too: for there to be a future there must be a university,” he expressed.
From the University Union Front They called on students, teachers and workers to accompany the day and participate in the protest that will take place in front of the Courts of La Plata.
