Seymour grew up in upstate New York, where he studied Photograph and graduated in 1989.

After the trip, Seymour returned to the United States and, in 1997, settled in Greensboro, North Carolina. There he remarried, had two children and set up a photography business, although he admits it never felt like his “real job.”
«I was always aware, as I got older, that this was going to be time-limited because I was away every weekend. I couldn’t do it forever,» Seymour shared.

“I am proud to have created something that did not exist before. When I entered law school, they told me: ‘You’re going to have a hard time finding a job, the job market is very competitive.’ There’s something very gratifying about being able to say, ‘I found a job, and I also created one for seven other people,’” she shared.
Reflecting on her life in general, she concluded: «I was very fortunate to be able to give birth to a child. I was able to adopt a child. I was able to study law. I have been able to do all of these things. I no longer feel that same desire to ‘try something different’. I feel like “This is where I was meant to be.”
