Family, friends and the university community will demand justice on June 17, while the investigation adds new progress.
One year after the murder of Pedro Pablo Mieresfamily, friends and workers from the university community of La Plata called for a mobilization to ask for justice and accompany the progress of the judicial case.
The march will take place on June 17 and will have as its starting point the Faculty of Exact Sciences of the UNLPwhere Mieres worked. From there, the protesters will move to the La Plata criminal court.

The call comes at a relevant time for the investigation, after the incorporation of new genetic expertise to the file. According to reports, the analyzes would have found traces compatible with one of the accused in elements linked to the attack.
A crime that generated shock in the university community
Pedro Pablo Mieres was murdered in June 2025 inside his home located in the area of 115 between 46 and 47. The autopsy determined that the cause of death was a mechanical asphyxiation by strangulation.
As part of the investigation, Justice arrested two people accused of the crime of “aggravated homicide criminis causa,” while a third person involved was prosecuted for concealment.
The case has different evidence incorporated, including security camera records, testimonies, movements made with the victim’s belongings and expert studies that allowed progress in the reconstruction of the events.
The family’s request and the continuity of the claim
From the complaint they support a hypothesis that suggests that the violence exerted during the attack could exceed a possible robbery attempt.
Relatives suggest that the incident could be related to prejudices linked to the sexual orientation and gender identity of the victim.
With the mobilization, the organizers seek to keep present the demand for justice by Pedro Pablo Mieres and accompany the family while the judicial process that keeps the La Plata university community on alert continues.
